15 Illusion Rooms
15 rooms challenge the visitors' senses and prove that our visual perception may ultimately be just an illusion. The rooms have imaginative names such as the Chair Illusion, Head on the Platter, Anti-gravity Room, Rotated Room, and Infinity Room. It’s a perfect place to confuse yet educate children and adults alike! Awesome tricks will teach you about vision, perception, the human brain, and science; you will understand how some physical laws actually work.
The Museum of Illusions is located at Ermou 119, just below Monastiraki Square in central Athens. It is open Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm, and on Saturdays it is open until 10 pm. The museum welcomes all age groups, and promises an intriguing and educational experience!
Fashion filmmakers will meet in Athens for the first time on February 25 to 27, at the Athens Concert Hall.
The 1st Athens Fashion Film Festival aims to bring together two different art forms - fashion and cinematography - by offering insight into the innovative world of fashion films. It is a cultural meeting for filmmakers, fashion designers, artistic directors, advertising agencies, production and fashion companies, actors, screenwriters, journalists, bloggers, fashion schools, audio-visual studies schools, NGOs that engage in sustainable fashion, as well as fashion and cinema enthusiasts in general.
The first Athens Fashion Film Festival will present a selection of approximately 100 fashion and documentary films, including spellbinding short films by major fashion houses such as Prada, Gucci, Cartier, Hermes, Ferragamo, directed by top directors like Anderson and Polanski.
Constanza Cavalli-Etro, founder of the Milano Fashion Film Festival and Corriere Della Sera columnist Valerio Cappelli will attend the festival. Founder and artistic director of the institution is the producer and director Nicole Alexandropoulou. This event runs from February 25-27 at the Nikos Skalkotas Hall.
On Wednesday, February 4, the 8th edition of ÈSO comes to the Amphitheatre of the Onassis Cultural Centre. ÈSO, the leading showcase for design and architecture in Greece, aims to provide a platform for fruitful discussions and become a great source of inspiration to its attendees. After 8 consecutive years of success, ÈSO is now a well-established event that continues to grow and evolve. Like every year, the event welcomes important representatives of Greek architecture, interior and graphic design and successful professionals from Greece and abroad.
The event will be hosted and coordinated by Poka Yio, the painter and visual artist who, along with Xenia Kalpaktsoglou founded the Athens Biennale in 2005. ÈSO’s keynote speakers, designers, photographers, artists, and award-winning architects will explain and analyze their creative process, and provide insight into their professional experiences. Among them, Giannis Tseklenis, a highly acclaimed Greek designer, who since 1956 has managed to stimulate his audience's aesthetic quality and elegance.
